Miscellaneous
Experimentation with other various media
Ripe Kiwi (papier-mâché & Plaster of Paris)
Just one of those things...
Dodecahedron (plasterboard)
Spare plasterboard was begging to be made into a Platonic solid. The piece stood about half a metre tall and was donated to another artist to mosaic.
Curly Hair (pencil)
An investigation into drawing curly hair.
Paving Mosaic (pebble & concrete)
A painstaking process of placing and swapping pebbles in and out to get an accurate fit before setting in a bed of concrete. Done under the tutelage of famed NZ mosaic artist, John Botica.
Cottage (embroidery)
Another of those things that, until you do it, you don't know how time-consuming it is. These stitches are tiny - less than 1mm across. (Approximately 120/cm2 or 780/in2.)
Leather Embossing
For this test, 3D stamps were designed and printed in green PLA. They were clamped on wet leather to produce permanent embossing and debossing effects. For scale, the "aurum" text is 8mm tall.
Faux Book (balsa wood)
A tiny creation made of balsa wood to resemble a book.
